Help Our Neighbors

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the December 9th storms throughout Tennessee.

As the volunteer state, we are all wondering how we can help. We’ve created a collection of resources on how you can help those in need or get help for yourself or those affected.

  1. Please be careful and stay safe. Please stay off the roads in affected area and let first responders do their jobs.
  2. If your power is out in the Nashville area, report is to NES Power.
    1. Text “OUT” from your mobile device
Quickly report a power outage by texting “OUT” to 637797 (NESPWR). Customers who have not signed up for interactive text messaging with NES can register here.
    2. Call 615-234-0000
You will need the NES account number, meter number or phone number associated with your account for the system to recognize your outage.

PROTECTIVE ACTIONS/KEY MESSAGES

  • Do not enter damaged buildings or hazardous locations.
  • Hire only licensed contractors and do not pay the total amount before the work is complete. More tips for consumers after a disaster can be found here.
  • Avoid downed power lines.
  • If your house or property sustained damage, take pictures before cleanup efforts and contact your insurance company.
  • Contact your local emergency management agency if you need immediate assistance.

Crisis Cleanup is active for the whole state. If you need assistance with damage from the tornadoes, call the home cleanup hotline (615-488-1875) for help.
