Brooklyn Heights Community Garden is hosting an Herbal Medicine Making Workshop led by Iya Sobande Greer, September 30th from 8AM to 5PM. Come enjoy a full day of immersion and exploration of herbal medicine through hands-on creation of simple remedies.
Led by Iya Sobande Greer, the founder & director of NCB School of Herbalism & Holistic Health, you will explore the variety of herbal remedies growing in the garden as you learn to cultivate plant wisdom through ritual. Sobande is a world-traveled speaker, master herbalist, writer and educator and she will personally teach you the fundamentals of herbal remedies by crafting various methods of application, including tinctures, salves, feel good elixirs, oils, teas, infusions, and more. You will receive guidance and instruction in plant identification; selection & harvesting; and preparation for optimal benefit. Gain the tools and insight to create home remedies and deepen your connection to both your body and the plant world around you. This workshop will honor elder wisdom & oral traditions as we deepen our connection to plant spirits.
