Police say 3-year-old suffered critical head wound in Nashville shooting

Metro police are investigating after a three-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the head Monday morning at a Madison home in the 3600 block of Village Trail. Officers are working to determine exactly what happened, who had the gun and who all was inside the home when the little boy was shot. Search warrants are being sought so officers can search the home. Police said they have not located the gun yet. The investigation is ongoing and I will have more information on the story as it develops.


Nashville vocal coach charged after years long allegation of child rape

Laurence “Buzzy” Orange, a Nashville vocal coach is facing child rape charges after he allegedly abused a girl over a period of years when the girl was between 5 and 11 years old. The 73-year-old owns Buzzy Orange Studio of Voice on 18th Ave. South. The investigation into Orange began this May after the victim and a parent came forward. Anyone with concerns about his behavior around clients is asked to contact the MNPD Youth Services Division at 615-862-7417


Burglary suspect arrested after leading Wilson County police on early morning pursuit

Roger Dewane Watts, of Murfreesboro, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment and evading arrest floowing an early morning pursuit by police in Wilson County. Deputies responded to a possible burglary in progress at a home located on Old Shannon Road yesterday. Watts quickly fled the scene but was eventually arrested. He is currently in the Wilson County Jail and has been scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court.


AMAZON TO HOLD CAREER DAY FOR 30,000 JOBS

Amazon’s next massive event is Career Day when the company is hoping to fill more than 30,000 jobs with job fairs at several major cities including Nashville. Amazon is set to open a new Operations Center of Excellence, will hold its hiring event Tuesday, Sept. 17.  Amazon said to plans to hire more than 5,000 workers at the Operations Center of Excellence at the Nashville Yards development downtown. It’s unclear how many of the 30,000 positions the online shopping giant hopes to fill are Nashville based. Amazon’s Career Day event in Nashville will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Cannery Ballroom, 1 Cannery Row.

Yesterday, Donald Trump said he was concerned about allowing Bahamian refugees fleeing the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian into the U.S. He said, “We have to be very careful. Everybody needs totally proper documentation because the Bahamas had some tremendous problems with people going to the Bahamas that weren’t supposed to be there.” He also added, that he doesn’t want to allow people that weren’t supposed to be in the Bahamas to come into the United States, including some very bad people and some very bad gang members and some very, very bad drug dealers.”
