Triller announces search for Verzuz’s first resident DJ

The DJ will host other events on the Triller platform and will earn an annual salary of $1,000,000.
If you’re a fan of Verzuz, you’re aware that most of the competitions have featured various DJs that warm up the stage prior to the artists’ arrival, play the hits amid the battle and keep viewers entertained during any breaks. The likes of DJ D-Nice, DJ Spinderella, DJ Cassidy, DJ Scratch, and DJ Carisma have previously flaunted their spinning skills on the platform, but now Triller is in search of ONE resident DJ.
“We’re looking for a performer at heart, someone with a big personality, incredible personal flair, and technical skills to match; someone who not only has his, her or their finger on the pulse of music and culture, but who is also creating it,” Triller executive chairman Bobby Sarnevesht said of his expectations.
“We cannot wait to discover the next superstar behind the decks…To all of you DJs around the world, it’s time to show us your stuff!”
According to Complex, interested candidates must upload five-minute sets on the Triller app alongside the hashtag #TrillerDJ. Viewers at home will cast their votes, and on Aug. 8, the list of potential resident DJs will be brought down to 16 finalists, who will face off in a Verzuz battle set to take place on Sept. 10 during TrillerVerz weekend.
The winner of the battle will join the Triller team as their resident DJ and will be responsible for hosting Verzuz and some of the other events held on their platform, including Triller Live, Triller Fight Club, and FITE. Not to mention, they’ll earn a six-figure salary of $1,000,000.
“We’re excited to help find Triller’s new Resident DJ, which will be a DJ gig like no other,” Swizz Beatz and Timbaland said in a statement. “The Verzuz audience knows what’s up, so when the voting begins, you can be sure the winning DJ will be someone who has all the right stuff. We can’t wait to discover the next superstar behind the decks.”
The position for Verzuz resident DJ is open to DJs who are Los Angeles-based and ready to travel. Fortunately, experience is not a requirement. Veteran DJs and “aspiring DJs from around the world” can compete for the job.
