LEBRON JAMES PROPOSES OWNERSHIP GROUP TO BUY SEN. KELLY LOEFFLER’S WNBA TEAM FOLLOWING SENATE RACE DEFEAT

It’s shaping up to be a bad week for Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler.
After losing her Senate runoff race Tuesday night, NBA Superstar LeBron James is now putting an ownership group together to potentially buy the WNBA franchise she co-owns.
The Los Angeles Laker and defending champion floated the idea on his Twitter account early Wednesday morning. James’s tweet came hours after Loeffler was declared the loser in her Senate runoff race against
Loeffler, who’s been a co-owner of the Atlanta Dream since 2011, can blame herself and her team for her election loss. In July, Loeffler had a ten-point lead in the polls over Warnock. However, in the same month, Loeffler doubled down on her stance against the Black Lives Matter movement. After Loeffler’s statements, members of the Dream team began showing public support for Warnock on social media and urged fans of the team to do the same. Loeffler was pressured to sell the team after her comments but she refused.
Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts responded to James’s pitch, tweeting “COUNT ME IN!!!”
Earlier this year ahead of the presidential election, James started the organization More Than A Vote. The organization recruited more than 10,000 poll workers and was a significant part of the NBA opening up arenas to be used as polling locations for early voting.

NBA players and professional athletes have spoken up and out against police brutality and voter suppression in recent months. After Jacob Blake was shot seven times in the back by Kenosha, Wisconsin, police, professional teams led by the Milwaukee Bucks refused to play that night.
With both Warnock and Jon Ossoff winning Senate seats, it appears Democrats will control the government for the first time since former President Barack Obama‘s first two years in office.
