Wendy Williams Shares Premiere Date And Details About TV Movie Biopic On Her Life

‘The Oval’ star Ciera Payton plays the talk show queen.
After years of being in limbo, a biopic on Wendy Williams’ life will finally air in January.
The talk show host said on The Wendy Williams Show this morning (November 24), “I’ve never been so proud.”
She continued, “I’ve got a date and a time and four hours. I want to watch it by myself, so I can stop the TV and back it up. I will learn how to do it by then.”
The film, which doesn’t have a title yet, will premiere on January 30 on Lifetime and fans will also get a two-hour documentary about Williams’ life.
The film will detail Williams’ ups and downs – from her start in urban radio to her highly successful syndicated talk show. It will also take a look into her private persona, discussing the joy and humiliation she’s experienced throughout her life.
The Oval’s Ciera Payton will portray Wendy and P-Valley’s Morocco Omari has been tapped to depict her ex-husband Kevin Hunter in Lifetime’s forthcoming biopic about the talk show queen. According to Deadline back in September, the film is directed by The Chi’s Darren Grant and executive produced by Will Packer and Sheila Duckworth along with Williams.
