Creed III is officially a big hit.The third film in the series came out on top at the box office on its opening weekend.The movie was projected to earn $36 million to $40 million, already surpassing those expectations.Variety reports that Creed lll opened to a $58.7 million debut.The first Creed film opened to $29.6 million in 2015, while its 2018 sequel opened to $35.5 million.Michael B. Jordan also made his directing debut in Creed lll. The $75 million-budgeted third film is the most expensive one in the trilogy (its predecessors cost $35 million and $50 million, respectively), but it already appears to be well positioned in its theatrical run.In a distant second place, Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania collected roughly $12 million.At No. 3, Universal’s horror-comedy Cocaine Bear added $11 million.
