Travis Scott Cancels Upcoming Show in Saudi Arabia

The “Highest In The Room” rapper scrapped his $5.5 million one-off show.

The Astroworld fallout continues as Travis Scott has reportedly canceled an upcoming show in Saudi Arabia.

According to Variety, the “Highest In The Room” rapper already scrapped this weekend’s Day N Vegas performance, and his “one-off show” in Saudi Arabia, which was scheduled for Nov. 19, finds him walking away from a $5.5 million payday.

Despite those cancelations, Scott is still scheduled for next year’s Coachella Festival.

Eight people were killed and hundreds more were injured during the first night of Scott’s Astroworld Festival last Friday (Nov. 5). The crowd of more than 50,000 people surged toward the stage, leaving many unable to breathe or move.
In addition to those who lost their lives, 9-year-old Ezra Blount, who was on his father’s shoulders watching Scott’s performance, was “trampled and catastrophically injured” after his father passed out during the surge. The young boy is currently at the Texas Children’s Hospital fighting for his life after suffering from many injuries, including brain swelling and lung, kidney, and liver damage.
Bharti Shahani, a 22-year-old senior at Texas A&M University, was declared brain dead after being critically injured last Friday.
Currently, Scott’s lawsuit count stands over 35, as Live Nation and others are also indicted in the filings. Famed attorney Ben Crump has been called in to represent Blount’s family. Their lawsuit alleges negligence in several aspects, including failure to provide proper medical attention, crowd control, hiring, supervision, training, and retention.
As reported by BET.com, Scott plans to cover the funeral costs of the eight attendees who passed away. He has teamed up with BetterHelp to provide free one-on-one online therapy services to festival attendees who need them and has refunded all monies back to the Astroworld ticket holders.
