‘RHOA’s Marlo Hampton Finally Gets a Peach!

After years of appearing on the show as a “friend,” and after years of fans begging for her to be given a (rightfully earned) peach, Marlo Hampton will be joining “Real Housewives of Atlanta” as a full-time Housewife.
Variety revealed that Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, and Drew Sidora would be returning for season 14. The publication announced that Shereé Whitfield is also returning and that and Marlo, “a longtime friend” of the “RHOA” ladies,” now has a peach.
Marlo first appeared on the show’s fourth season, and her friendship with NeNe Leakes quickly ruffled a few feathers.
Last year, Marlo revealed that she was ready to receive her peach.
“A lot of these girls pick the wrong friends,” she told Wendy Williams at the time. “I’ve sat back and I’ve said, ‘Look how they treat me?’ Everyone they invest in is gone. Everyone they believe in is gone. I’m right here still. The story is still the same.”
“Someone definitely don’t want me to have [a peach],” she added. “And I’m OK because I’ve told everyone. I love Bravo, whoever’s working for Bravo that doesn’t love me, I love you. I’ve been loyal to my home. To me, Bravo is family. They take good care of me, I’ve seen a lot of the world. I eat good, I’m able to sit here and talk to you and not worry about where my next meal is coming from.”
Earlier this year, NeNe shared that she didn’t believe Marlo would ever be handed a peach.
“When you’ve been doing something for so long, I don’t see the network giving you a peach, I just don’t,” she said. “You have given them everything for [a certain] amount of pay, why do they need to give you a peach? For what? What’s going to change? They get everything they need right now. What are they going to get when they give you a peach? All they are going to get is a photo of you holding a peach.”
