Duane Martin Signs With Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk Productions To Produce Scripted and Unscripted Content

Long-time friend of the Smith family, actor Duane Martin, is teaming up with his pals in a new production deal. Deadline reports that Martin, famous for roles in the Smith-produced television sitcom All of Us, has signed on to an overall deal with Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk Productions for both scripted and unscripted content. The first two projects slated under the agreement are The Free Agent and Deal Detective.
The Free Agent, created by Martin and Pinkett Smith, is a series loosely based on the actor’s 25 years as a sports agent. It will follow an on-the-rise agent who started his own company at a young age who later represents five Hall of Fame athletes in five different sports.
Deal Detective is a reality series that follows Martin as he leads a group of professional bargain hunters. The show will educate viewers on how to find deals while saving money to support their families in difficult financial times.
“Jada is the brilliant creator and architect of the Red Table universe and I’m thrilled we are working together. As we go forward with sharing part of my story, Jada has the unique perspective of having seen the journey unfold. I can’t think of a better partner,” Martin said in an official statement.
Pinkett Smith echoed similar sentiments. “Duane and I have been friends for a long time. It would be an understatement to say how excited myself and the Red Table Talk family are to work with someone as talented as Duane.”
The move comes amid Pinkett Smith winning her first Daytime Emmy award for her Facebook Watch talk show Red Table Talk. Martin’s other television credits include The Real Husbands of Hollywood alongside Kevin Hart, Boris Kodjoe, and others.

Actor Duane Martin attends the benefit for children with autism at Xen Lounge on April 17, 2016 in Studio City, California.
