For a time, Brandy’s younger brother Ray J was known as just that – Brandy’s brother. Over the years, the tables have turned a bit and Ray J is a bonafide celebrity himself. He’s doing his brotherly duties to always hype up his big sister, and maybe even be trying to hook her up.
According to the platform, over 6 million people watched Brandy and Monica’s Verzuz battle, in what they called the “Super Bowl of Livestreams.” It also featured an appearance from VP-elect Kamala Harris and raised $250K for When We All Vote. Brandy’s also riding high off the latest release of her career, B7, an indie affair for the artist and one of her most introspective to date. So, is she looking for love in the midst of this career resurgence?
Brother Ray J appeared on The Joe Budden Podcast, where host Joe Budden brought up a long-held crush for one of Black America’s first teen sweethearts. Ray J told Budden his sister wasn’t dating anyone, stating his sister “needs a nice, good, wholesome guy that’s gonna be honest.” When the co-host Mal joked, “That’s not Joe,” Joe chided him back and said he might pull up on Brandy.
Well, Brandy took to Power 106 in Los Angeles and of course the question came up. Brandy, for her part, didn’t say that she wasn’t interested – but that Joe definitely had one thing working against him that might have been a deal breaker.
“My brother’s homies are like my brothers, my friends. No,” said Brandy.
