MAN AWAITS SENTENCING AFTER TESTIMONY

Queshan Brooks is awaiting sentencing and facing consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole for the January 2018 murders of three people, in which he plead guilty. On Monday emotional testimony was shared. Brooks stepmother, Darnykka Daniel-McCray survied the shooting, but took the stand to represent her daughters, 8-year-old Sammarre and 5-year-old Samaii Daniel that did not survive Brooks’ gunfire. Brooks will learn his fate this week. The judge saying on Monday he planned to provide a written sentencing to legal counsel within the next five days.


FATHER WAS BEHIND THE WHEEL WHEN SON WAS KILLED

The father of the boy who died at the Mt. Juliet Christmas parade was behind the wheel of the vehicle that ran over his son Saturday at the end of Christmas parade in Mt Juliet. Rowan Ace Frensley, 7, was killed when he fell out of a trailer at a staging area at the end of the Christmas parade and was run over. The THP crash report released identifies 44-year-old Art Frensley of Mt. Juliet as the driver of the 2014 Ford F-150 pulling a trailer at a low rate of speed preparing to unload passengers from a trailer after the Mt. Juliet Christmas parade. Rowan was struck by the trailer tires.


RALLY IN SUPPORT OF IMPEACHMENT SCHEDULED FOR NASHVILLE

A rally in support of the impeachment of President Donald Trump will take place in downtown Nashville on Tuesday. The “Trump is Not above the Law Rally” will be held at the Kefauver Federal Building on Broadway at 4:30 p.m. The demonstration is in support of the impeachment and removal of the president, as part of a national response of public demonstrations on the eve of the vote on impeachment in the U.S. House of Representatives. More than 100,000 people have signed up to rally in over 500 locations nationally. The rally in Nashville is organized by Nashville and Middle TN Indivisible, a grassroots organization.


OFFICER APPEALING JUDGE’S DECISION DENYING REQUEST

Andrew Delke, the officer charged with fatally shooting 25 year old Daniel Hambrick from behind is appealing a judge’s decision denying his request to draw a jury from outside the area. Defense attorney David Raybin said in court Monday that his client,shouldn’t have to contend with the publicity that the July 2018 shooting of 25-year-old Daniel Hambrick has received, saying the news coverage has influenced prospective jurors in Nashville. Watkins on Monday allowed an appeal of that decision to move forward. A trial date still hasn’t been set.


BODY RECOVERED FROM CUMBERLAND RIVER

An investigation is underway after Nashville firefighters recovered a body from the Cumberland River Monday morning. The body was recovered in the area of 1040 Visco Drive. Firefighters are expected to provide additional information as the investigation unfolds.
