Metro officer charged with domestic assault resigns
32 year old Gardiner Bradley, a recently decommissioned Metro Nashville police officer, resigned from duty on yesterday following charges of domestic assault. Bradley, who had been an officer less than 18 months, was arrested Friday. He was decommissioned from the department on the first day of the assault investigation and also surrendered to warrants for his arrest on September 20 before resigning from the police department on September 23. He was charged with domestic assault, interference with a 911 call and vandalism.
Man hit, killed by vehicle in Gallatin
A man was arrested for aggravated vehicular homicide, among other charges, after hitting a pedestrian in Gallatin. Gallatin Police responded to Britton Avenue and Joslin Street for a pedestrian who was reportedly hit by a car. The pedestrian was identified as Keith Lamonte Bell of Gallatin. Police arrested Dwain Mitchell Patton of Gallatin and charged him with aggravated vehicular homicide and leaving the scene with serious bodily injury. The investigation is on-going and I will have more information as this story develops.
More than 200 Metro employees didn’t receive paychecks
Over 200 Metro employees did not receive pay checks last week as well as some city employees not receiving their overtime or Labor Day pay. Workers in the city’s fire department did not receivetheir paychecks properly as well as some Metro Schools employees. Metro Nasvhille switched to a new payroll system that was implemented on Sept 2 and said that, with a switch this large, there might be some unanticipated issues.

Promise Sawyers, a middle school studentat Head Magnet School has gone viral for a motivational video where she proudly talks about wearing her natural hair to her new school, after being bullied for it.
The video has more than 2 million views and has garnered the attention of such stars as Tracee Ellis Ross, India Arie and an interview on the Kelly Clarkson Show. Qui Daugherty, Promise’s mother, encouraged Promise after she came home from school and said that the students were mean, saying that in their house, they meet negativity with positivity.
