Franklin ranked 3rd best city in the U.S. for retirement

The well-known consumer finance website bankrate.com has ranked Franklin as the third best city in the country to retire.

The website ranked the Williamson County city just after after Arlington and Alexandria, VA.

The study ranked the cities across nine categories, including cost of living, climate, healthcare cost and quality, taxes, crime, well-being, walkability and cultural vitality, the release said.

R&B singer-songwriter and actress Jill Scott got married to her longtime boyfriend Mike Dobson in Franklin over the weekend.

The Saturday wedding took place in the backyard of the Grammy-winning, Philly native’s home deep inside the Williamson County city.

Roughly 50 people attended, including…Comedian Kym Whitley… Hip hop legend Big Daddy Kane’s performance during the post-wedding reception was Scott’s wedding gift from her husband, a native of Jamaica who attended Morehouse College in Atlanta.
