Who loves to travel? I sure do. The passport stays current and the suitcase is currently partially packed. Although I prefer the beach, I am down to go almost everywhere in the world; and air travel is alright with me. Whether you travel long distances for work or for recreation the condition of jet lag is real and there are some things we can do to feel ready for our time at the destination once the wheels are down.
Jet lag is “a physiological condition which results from alterations to the body’s circadian rhythms resulting from rapid long-distance transmeridian (east–west or west–east) travel on high-speed aircraft.”
(https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jet_lag). The annoying symptoms include sleep issues, cognitive challenges, and digestion problems. It may take at least three timezone changes for jet lag to kick in and it could take a few days to subside. I am not trying to deal with any of that when I get to my locale. Food and beverage choices, sunlight, and flight seating are some factors to consider to ensure that jet lag does not impede upon the fun times.
