At the end of August, Mariah Carey disclosed that her mother and sister died on the same day. At the time, the 5-time Grammy Award-winning singer asked for privacy while she dealt with the tragic events and grieved the loss of her beloved family members. Now, Carey has revealed that she has started rehearsing once again for her upcoming live performances. In an Instagram post from Sunday (September 8), Carey is featured singing a snippet of a piano-led version of her Billboard Top 20 hit,

“It’s Like That,” from 2005’s The Emancipation of Mimi. Carey captioned her post, “Back at work. It’s been a couple of rough weeks, but I appreciate everyone’s love and support so much and I can’t wait to see my fans in China & Brazil. Love you! ❤️❤️❤️” Carey has shows scheduled in Rio de Janeiro on September 13 at Rock in Rio, and in São Paulo on September 20 at Allianz Parque. She is also scheduled to headline two shows at Beijing Workers Stadium in China on September 15 and 16.
