Snoop Dogg appears to be addressing backlash from the LGBTQ+ community by promoting inclusivity on his kids’ show Doggyland.
The program just released a new song, “Love Is Love,” featuring The Voice alum Jeremy Beloate, who voices the character Zippy. In the animated video, Snoop’s Bow Wizzle character celebrates diverse families — including same-sex parents — while rapping about love and acceptance.
The rapper partnered with Beloate and GLAAD for Spirit Day, a campaign supporting LGBTQ youth. “Love is love … it’s teaching the situations that kids and the world are going through right now,” Snoop said. He added that the goal is to help children understand and respect all types of families.
The move follows criticism of Snoop’s 2022 comments about Disney’s Lightyear, which featured a same-sex couple.
