Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s widow, Tenisha Warner, is reportedly suing his mother, Pamela Warner, seeking at least $1.2 million from the Warner Family Trust. She claims the late actor failed to fulfill several promises outlined in their May 2022 prenuptial agreement before his death, making her a creditor of his estate.
So Malcolm drowned while on vacation in Costa Rica in July 2025 at the age of 54. On the one-year anniversary of his passing, Tenisha filed the lawsuit against Pamela Warner, who now serves as the successor trustee of the family trust.
According to the complaint, Tenisha says she fulfilled her obligations under the agreement by marrying Malcolm-Jamal Warner and remaining married to him until his death. However, she claims he never fulfilled several financial promises, including obtaining a $1 million life insurance policy naming her as the sole beneficiary, paying her $5,000 a month as his “chief of staff,” giving her $16,000 each year on their wedding anniversary, funding a tax-free retirement account for her, and maintaining college funds for their children.
The lawsuit states, “The decedent died without having satisfied his obligations under the agreement, and no person or entity has paid or provided the sums due to plaintiff under the agreement.”
Tenisha is seeking at least $1,276,042, plus interest and attorney fees. She also filed a creditor’s claim against her late husband’s estate and is asking the court to prevent Pamela Warner from distributing assets from the family trust while the case is being litigated.
