Snoop Dogg’s new big screen biopic is starting to take shape.
The D-O-Double-G pulled up to CinemaCon last week, to offer some updates on the project based on his life story. Snoop confirmed production on his upcoming biopic will begin this summer in Los Angeles, with Outer Banks star Jonathan Daviss set to play a young Snoop. Directed by Craig Brewer, the film will trace his rise from Long Beach to global icon.
Snoop suggested that his role will be to make sure the movie gets things right, telling the crowd, “If we gonna do a Snoop Dogg movie, I gotta get gangster with it,” promising a hard-edged, rated-R take. The film is expected to hit theaters in 2027, with Snoop promising to come back to CinemaCon next year with a trailer in hand.
