The suburban Chicago mansion once known as R. Kelly’s “Chocolate Factory” has sold for just $1.6 million — a fraction of its original asking price.
The 21,000-square-foot Olympia Fields estate, where Kelly once recorded his hit music and committed some of his crimes, was bought out of foreclosure in 2013 by Rudolph and Elaine Isley for $587,500. Despite extensive renovations, including a jungle-themed pool and Chicago Bulls-themed bedroom, the home struggled to sell amid six-figure property taxes and a notorious history.
Realtor Alex Wolking told the New York Post that media attention around Kelly and the Isley Brothers “actually helped sell it,” calling the property “one of the Midwest’s rare celebrity estates.”
