Sean “Diddy” Combs wants to stay close to New York during his prison sentence.
Combs’ lawyers are requesting that he be sent to FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison in New Jersey, to address drug abuse issues and maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.
Combs was convicted under the federal Mann Act for transporting people across state lines for sexual encounters. Last week, Combs was sentenced to 50 months in jail with 12 of those months counting as time served.
The Bureau of Prisons will ultimately determine where Combs serves his time.
