Larry Hoover Jr. Says Ye and Drake Have The Power To Free His Father (VIDEO)

The son of the infamous Chi-town gangster wants the two hip-hop titans to end their cold war.
The war of words between Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and Drake has gone from their respective albums to being aired out on N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN’s Drink Champs podcast.

All in all, while their cold war has sparked up the competitive fire in hip-hop, the son of a famous Chicago gangster wants them to forego their egos and use their power to help free Larry Hoover.

According to TMZ, the pettiness between Ye and Drake needs to be checked and, as suggested by Larry Hoover Jr., the latter should accept the former’s proposed peace offering — a benefit concert starring both rap superstars.

Earlier this week, Ye attempted to do just that with the 6 god in a video posted by Rap-A-Lot Records founder J. Prince on Monday (Nov. 8). In it, Ye reads a statement from his phone inviting his frequent collaborator to perform with him at a concert on Dec. 7, dubbed the Free Larry Hoover concert.
“Both me and Drake have taken shots at each other and it’s time to put it to rest,” Ye said in the clip. “I believe this event will not only bring awareness to our cause but prove to people — everywhere — how much more we can accomplish when we lay our pride to the side and come together.”

Prince revealed last month that both men had pledged their support to fight for the prison release of the Gangster Disciples co-founder, despite their differences. But Drake has yet to publicly address the matter.
Larry Jr. says that he and his mother, Winndye, already spoke with the October’s Very Own co-founder at J. Prince’s Texas estate a few months ago.

“The concert thing, you know, we still working on that,” Hoover Jr. said. “[J. Prince] is dealing with Drake and speaking with him directly so he would have to pass the information on for that, as far as him coming all the way in. But hopefully, in a few days, it’s looking good and it’s looking like he should be moving forward to maybe take part in this whole thing.”

Ye has made it no secret that he wants Hoover Sr. free and out in the world. After name-dropping him on Donda, Hoover Jr. believes the recently minted billionaire helped people to see that his father “is a human being.” Elsewhere in the TMZ video, he references the First Step Act, which was signed into law by former President Donald Trump in December 2018, and was denied by a federal judge earlier this year, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

At the time, an attorney for Hoover explained that the ruling in question didn’t equate to the window of opportunity being permanently shut.

“They look at my father as Larry Hoover the gangster and all [of] the negative activity they put around his name and that the media has put there,” Hoover’s son said Wednesday (Nov. 10). “‘Donda’ was my first opportunity to give my narrative and let people see him as a person and know who he is.”
