WOMAN CHARGED FOR HITTING POLICE WITH CAR

Mount Juliet Police arrested a woman in the Providence Market Place area Saturday night. According to authorities, Reba Harris, 61, reversed and struck a patrol SUV with her car. She also attempted to resist officers. Police said an officer originally attempted to stop Harris for driving without headlights and suspicion of driving under the influence. Harris was charged with Driving Under the Influence, 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, Evading Arrest, Resisting Arrest, Vandalism, Reckless Endangerment, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.


Man arrested for carrying luggage with nearly 70 pounds of marijuana at Nashville Airport

A man was arrested for carrying luggage with nearly 70 pounds of marijuana at Nashville Airport from a flight out of San Jose. A K9 with Nashville Airport Police indicated two large, black suitcases, both of which had tags belonging to Dnedric Kelly. Kelly is charged with felony drug possession, and is being held on a $75,000 bond.


78-year-old woman carjacked in her own driveway

An elderly grandmother was carjacked in broad daylight, in her own driveway. On Saturday Shirley went out to her driveway on Monticello Avenue in Madison to get items out of her car. That’s when she says a young man approached her from behind, held a box cutter to her face and threatened her. “I said please, please son, don’t do this,” said Shirley. 78-year-old Shirley is a two time cancer survivor. She doesn’t scare easily, but is still shaken up today. Shirley says the man threw her to the ground before driving off with her car. They hope the person responsible is caught before he tries to hurt someone else. Shirley reported the incident to Goodlettsville police. She is asking the community to be on the lookout for a 2013 Black Chevy Impala, with a US flag sticker and a Jesus sticker on the back. It has a Tennessee license plate is R4870A. BUTTIGIEG WINS IOWA

The Iowa Democratic Party on Sunday finally announced the winner of last week’s Iowa caucuses. Mayor Pete Buttigieg got the biggest delegate count, narrowly topping Senator Bernie Sanders. According to the Democratic Party, Buttigieg got 14 delegates, while Sanders got 12 delegates. In third was Senator Elizabeth Warren with eight delegates, former Vice President Joe Biden with six, and Senator Amy Klobuchar with one.

A strong cold front will move through Wednesday bringing more heavy rain and a few thunderstorms. In total we could pick up on 2-4″ of rain through Thursday.
