A U.S. Army soldier took ten flights in two days to get home to see the birth of his daughter.
Francois Clerfe, U.S. Army Combat Engineer, arrived to the hospital just in time before Natalia Svistunova, his wife, gave birth to their beautiful daughter on New Year’s Day. Clerfe flew approximately 10,000 miles from his deployment in Iraq to L.A.
Those ten flights took over two days to make it home. Clerfe went from;Kuwait to Turkey, Turkey to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to Baltimore, Baltimore to Atlanta, and three more flights before he got to Monterey, California.
The baby was due on January 9, but she came earlier than they expected at 9:53 a.m. on New Year’s Day. “That moment, having a first kid into the world on very first day of the New Year, I think that it’s going to be a very good year.” Clerfe said.
