MALEAH DAVIS’ MOTHER TO FACE CHARGES IN DAUGHTER’S DEATH

Houston community activist Quanell X says Maleah Davis’ mother, Brittany Bowens, will face charges in her daughter’s gruesome death. The remains found on Friday were positively identified as Maleha. Her mother’s fiancé, Derion Vence, was arrested on May 11. Quanell said he believes Bowens will face charges because she knows more than what she’s saying, stating that she confessed to him that she helped cover up physical abuse of Maleah in the home. He said Bowens became upset when she learned that he went to the district attorney’s office with information he gathered during his own investigation.


FORMER TSU ADMISSIONS EMPLOYE INDICTED ON FEDERAL STUDENT AID FRAUD

31 year old Renauld Clayton, A former admissions employee for Tennessee State University has been indicted on multiple charges, including fraud, involving federal student aid payments. Clayton was working in the admissions office when he changed others’ bank account information and began diverting students’ federal student aid payments to bank accounts under his control.

The U.S. Department of Education later found that $84,506 had been misappropriated and that Clayton had fraudulently deposited more than $60,000 into his personal bank accounts, according to a release. If convicted on the federal charges, he faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.


METRO TEACHERS MAKE LAST DITCH EFFORT TO MAKE CASE FOR RAISES

Metro teachers filled Metro Council chambers to make their case for bigger raises and more money for schools. Mayor David Briley’s proposed budget was the focus of a public hearing at Tuesday night’s Metro Council meeting.  The public hearing lasted a little over one hour. Clarksville Police are attempting to find Amber Jagers, a suicidal woman who may have her 3-month-old child with her. She was last seen Tuesday afternoon around 1:30.and Police say Jagers is claiming to be armed and threatening to harm herself. Jagers’ daugher Eva Lynn, may be with her mother. Jagers is believed to be in a 2002 black Ford Escape Anyone who sees Jagers is asked to call 911 immeadiately.
