Alleged Hendersonville Drug Dealer Charged With Murder In Connection To 2018 Overdose
41 year old Jason Russell was arrested yesterday and charged with murder for allegedly selling drugs to a woman who overdosed in 2018. The 27-year-old Hendersonville woman died December 11, after overdosing on drugs she allegedly bought Russell. He was charged with second degree murder and is being held in the Sumner County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

19-year-old Marlen Ochoa’s body was found behind a home on Chicago’s Southwest Side and her baby was “forcibly removed” from her body after her death. Her family said they believe she went to a home after a woman on Facebook said she had a stroller and baby clothes. Ochoa died of ligature strangulation, and her death is considered a homicide. She was nine months pregnant when she disappeared April 23.
Parents Divided Over MNPS Teacher Protests
Thursday marked the third day of “sick-outs” for Metro teachers in the last few weeks. Teachers are calling on the school board and Mayor David Briley for a 10% salary increase, instead of the proposed 3%, which teachers say does not keep up with cost-of-living increases in Nashville nor does it take into account the many years in recent history they didn’t get a raise. Parents of students voice their thoughts and concerns. Harnish said the solution ultimately shouldn’t take away from students. Harnish said she hopes teachers will put off future protests until the school year is over.

Nashville Drivers To Pay More In Fines Under Mayor’s Parking Plan
Mayor David Briley wants the council to approve a deal to outsource Metro’s metered parking enforcement by the end of next month. This means that Nashville drivers will pay millions more in parking fines if a private company starts operating the city’s metered parking. Mayor Briley has already budgeted $30 million from the plan in next year’s budget, even though it has not been approved by the council.
