Thursday Storms Could Bring Damaging Winds  

As storms move in to the mid-state, the region will see a slight risk for severe weather. The storms are expected to hit the region between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. bringing with them a chance for damaging straight-line wind. Isolated tornadoes and hail are possible but the threat is low. The Storm 5 Alert weather team will be monitoring the potential of localized flash flooding as the system moves through, but that threat is also low. Be sure to stay weather-aware by checking the forecast and interactive radar.

  • Sandra Bland’s family wants her case reopened after it was revealed that she’d filmed the 2015 traffic stop that led to her mysterious death in a Texas jail.
  • The video shows then-Texas trooper Brian Encinia pulling out his Taser and yelling, “Get out of the car! I will light you up!”
  • Encinia was fired and indicted on a single charge of perjury that was later dismissed.
  • Bland’s sister, says, “Open up the case. Period. We know they have an extremely, extremely good cover-up system.”

6 Teens Arrested After Metro Police Recover Stolen SUV With Guns Inside

Six teens face charges after Metro Police recovered a stolen SUV with semi-automatic pistols inside. The 13-year-old driver of the SUV refused to pull over for an officer’s blue lights on Neill Avenue. Authorities deployed their spike strips and the six teenagers, three 13-year-olds, two 14-year-olds, and one 15-year-old, are all charged with auto theft and two counts each of unlawful gun possession by a juvenile. The 2013 Ford Edge was stolen from the 300 block of Broadway at 6 p.m. Tuesday after its owner left it running while running into a business.


Metro Nashville Police Pick Body Cam Vendor

The mayor’s office confirmed Wednesday the city has picked a camera vendor, going with WatchGuard Video. The money for the cameras was approved nearly two years ago.But, the body cams could be delayed again if any of the losing companies protest the city’s current choice. A lawsuit was filed by the family of Daniel Hambrick, who claims the department intentionally stalled the process.


Shooting at Nashville Apartment Complex Leads To Arrest

Christopher March was arrested this morning after shooting at his ex-girlfriend, Anissa Murphy, at her apartment complex Sunday evening. It happened on the 1500 block of Hickory Hollow Terrace. Ten 9mm shell casings were recovered from the scene. At the time of the incident, Murphy had a temporary order of protection against March. March was arrested this morning and charged with attempted criminal homicide.
