Man Killed In Nashboro Village Shooting Identified

The man who was fatally shot last week in an apartment in Nashboro Village has been identified as Deroe Jones. It happened on the 100 block of Village Green Drive . According to police, they found Jones suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. He died at the scene. Police are still pursuing leads. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (615) 742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous.


Man Arrested For Killing His Passenger In Car Crash

According to Metro Police Charles York Jr. crashed his 2012 Mazda CX-9  car Saturday morning killing his passenger, 47-year old Tricia Johnson. The crash happened in the 4800 block of Alvin Sperry Road when York drove off the road and hit a tree. Johnson was not wearing her seatbelt and died at the scene. York is being charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication and unlawful drug possession. He’s being held on a $15,000 bond.


MOREHOUSE COLLEGE ALLOWING TRANSGENDERS IN 2020

Starting in 2020, Morehouse College will be admitting transgender men to the school. The historically all-male and predominantly black college revealed the new policy, titled the Gender Identity Admission and Matriculation Policy, and stated it will apply to all students who are enrolled for the fall 2020 semester. In 2017, Spelman College, a private historically black, all-women’s school in Atlanta created a policy that is similar. The policy took 15 months to implement. Of course, the policy has opposition.


Body Of Mt. Juliet Man Found One Year After Going Missing

The skeletal remains of a Mt. Juliet man were found in a wooded area of Davidson County nearly eight months after he went missing. Dace Martinez, 29, went missing in August of 2018. There was no trace of Dace until forensic analysis confirmed the identity of skeletal remains located in Hermitage. There were no sign of foul play where the body was found.
