Flash Flood Watch for parts of Middle Tennessee

Flash Flood Watch for parts of Middle Tennessee

Weather Alert as we prepare for heavy rain and flooding risks across Middle Tennessee. Metro Water dispatched crews Tuesday. They focused on what they call the rain route. They keep a list of streets and bridges that are prone to flooding. Late last week they did a tour of those areas and noted which had heavy debris and clogging.

“If you had some flooding two weeks ago, it’ll probably start a little bit quicker this time. With the saturated soil, trees falling is another concern,” said Greg Woerdeman, TDOT. While those crews work to keep us safe and the roads clear, city leaders are asking everyone to be safe and prepare their safety plan. They urged drivers “don’t be a hero” by trying to pass through flooded roads. “If you see signs up for high water, don’t try it.”
