GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN: Lawmakers Reach Tentative Deal to Prevent a Repeat
Leaders from both parties believe they’ve found a way to make a deal in the government shutdown after back-to-back meetings. They still have to have Donald Trump sign off on it, and so far he’s been unwilling to compromise. He wants funding for his wall or he’ll shutdown the government again. The barrier would be built in the Rio Grande Valley, in Texas, using existing designs, such as metal slats, instead of the concrete wall that Mr Trump had demanded.
